We use a lot of Solar Panels. We buy them 27 to the the pallet to get a good deal. For $100 you can gift a single panel to The Solar Library and we will even inscribe your playa name onto that panel. Panels last 15 years and one panel can charge up to a 300AH battery replacing 1/3 of the typical generator on the playa used by our artists. Over its lifetime one panel removes 5 generators from the playa. We need 200 more panels by 2030 to meet our goals of serving 200 small art projects.

We use the same size panels for all the Units so they can be swapped on playa in the event of a repair. It also controls costs on fabricating units. The panels we use are industrial with aluminum frames and real glass that doesn’t scratch when we. clean them which extends their life. We have an opportunity to buy 3 Pallets of 27 panels at an incredible price which is almost half of what we need on our path to our 2030 goals of charging 200 batteries on playa.
